Manuscripts should be accompanied by a submission fee of $200 for electronic submissions by members of the Society for Financial Studies. Nonmembers will be charged an additional $60; this will not include a free subscription to the journal. Paying the nonmember fee of $260 will give you a one-year membership to the Society for Financial Studies. Any nonelectronic submission will be charged an additional $25. You may pay your submission fee by either credit card or check; however, if you pay by check your paper will not be processed until the check clears! This can take up to ten days from the date we receive your check. If the check does not clear there will be an additional fee of $30 that must also be paid prior to the processing of your manuscript. A submission fee must accompany your manuscript (whether an initial or resubmission) unless the fee has been explicitly waived by one of the journal's editors.
If you plan to pay by check please read the following!
All checks (whether from the U.S. or elsewhere) MUST have "encoding" at the bottom. Banks use this string of numbers to automatically route checks to the appropriate source. If your check does not have encoding it will be returned to you, and you will be asked to send a new check. Without encoding our bank will not process your check!
Checks in U.S. dollars payable against a non-U.S. bank (for example, a check written off of a German bank in U.S. dollars) are not acceptable! Checks must be written against banks with an associated U.S. branch. Acceptable checks have encoding and typically a U.S. clearing bank, such as Citibank U.S., noted somewhere on the check.
If you are paying by check, please mail the payment to:
Society for Financial Studies
PO Box 3592
Cary, NC 27519-3592
You can submit your manuscript electronically by clicking on the "Submit a Paper" link in the navigation panel on the left. Once your paper has been successfully submitted you will receive a confirming e-mail and a manuscript number. If you do not receive an e-mail in response to your submission, it did not enter the system properly. Either try again or contact the editorial office for additional assistance.
Nonelectronic submissions should be addressed to:
Society for Financial Studies
PO Box 3592
Cary, NC 27519-3592
After the editorial office receives your paper either a confirming e-mail (if you provided an e-mail address) or letter will be sent. If you do not receive a timely confirmation then your paper has not been received by the editorial office. Either mail another copy of the manuscript or contact the editorial office for additional assistance. |
